Whamtastic – A Tribute to George Michael & Wham

Whamtastic is an award-winning tribute show that plays at festivals and social events. The show, a tribute to George Michael and Wham, can also be hired to perform at birthday parties and weddings.

The event consists of two, 45-minute sets that also includes an 80s disco. Seen in small and large venues alike, the show is tailored to the event, so it’s always evolving, fun and exciting.

George Michael, who passed away on December 25, 2016, is an English icon who sold more than 115 million records during his career. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time. Michael’s breakthrough into the music scene came from his time with Wham!.

Wham! was a duo, which included Andrew Ridgeley, that lasted from 1981 through 1986.

Fantastic was the duo’s first album, which shot to the top of the charts in the UK and spawned several number one singles. The album included hit songs, such as “Young Guns” and “Club Tropicana.” Michael’s career with Wham! may have been eclipsed by his solo career, yet the duo sold over 28 million albums over a span of four years.

Wham plays an integral part of the Whamtastic show, bringing fans into the life of Michael before he became one of the top-selling solo artists of all time.

Whamtastic was established in 1995, playing under “The Club Tropicana Band,” name. The band played primarily at the Chicago Rock Café, but has also made appearances at the Brannigan Chain, too.

Whamtastic has since played shows across the world, branching into the international space with shows in Italy, France, Greece, Spain, Ukraine and South Africa.
